External stakeholders were involved in the Trans-SEC consortium and supported the discussions on research results as well as how set up tailored dissemination strategies to increase food security. NGOs, advisors, professional associations and policy makers were additional stakeholders in Trans-SEC.

	RiceAdvice East Africa	The BMZ funded RiceAdvice project aims at developing a smart phone based advisory tool for farmers producing irrigated rice in high altitude cropping systems.
